Infinity Group, producer of Infinity Tyres, has launched a solar-powered demonstration centre and other automobile products in Abuja.
The Executive Director of Infinity, Vineet Mathur, at the launch on Monday, said the state-of-the-art solar service centre was to address the power situation in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and spread same across the country, and as well produce automobile products suitable for cars and their maintenance.
“We wanted to be in the capital of the country to showcase our products and to be able to render high quality service at reasonable prices, as well as promote the solar concept given the power situation in Nigeria, and Abuja precisely, to encourage people to use solar as an alternative source of power,” he said.
Mathur said the company had employed over 200 local staff, mostly Nigerians, and that with the solar option, the group was generating an entrepreneurship avenue for people.
He introduced the company’s specialities to include tyre brands like Fiat, Pirelli and Infinity. “We also have solar panels to provide standby power, provide fitting balance and steam washing facilities for cars, and shortly we will be introducing lubricants across our 12 branches,” he said.
Speaking on the challenges for the company, he said the ability to convince people to buy quality products was difficult because many people often went for cheap and inefficient ones.
“We want people to understand that it is always good to pay a little more and buy a quality product instead of buying a substandard product that will put lives and property at risk,” Mathur added.
