EDO State Sets to Establish a State Investment Promotion Agency

The Edo State Government has concluded plans to set up a State Investment Promotion Agency and key into the NIPC’s Nigeria Investment Certification Programme for States (NICPS). This was disclosed at a Workshop, themed “INVESTMENT PROMOTION IN EDO STATE AS A TOOL FOR EHANCING ECONOMIC GROWTH” organized by the State Government.

The Deputy Governor of Edo State His Excellency Hon. Philip Shaibu who declared open the workshop stressed the importance of the event towards investment promotion for the State.

The workshop which is a follow up to the Edo State Investment and Business Forum held earlier, is meant to discuss how to further attract and sustain investments in the State while fast tracking the establishment an Investment Promotion Agency (IPA).

Also, the team from Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission lead by the Director, States Coordination Ms. Ladi Katagum that participated at the workshop paid a courtesy visit on His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki at the Government House.

This was to discuss on the setting up of a State Investment Promotion Agency (SIPA) and kick start the process of Edo State certification.

The team then presented the Governor with a tool kit of the Nigerian Investment Certification Programme for States ( NICPS) as while as an IPA setup Plan.
