The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) has endorsed the forthcoming Africa Space Economy Conference & Exhibition, slated for October this year. This serves as the Commission’s commitment to supporting the sector’s potential to boost Nigeria’s economic growth.

In a recent meeting hosted at NIPC, the conference organizers delved into a spectrum of space-related subjects, including satellite operations, evolving technologies, and their potential impact on the country’s economy.

Dr Mathew O. Adepoju, Director of the Strategic Space Applications Department at the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), led the delegation of the Local Organising Committee for the Exhibition. He elaborated on the far-reaching importance of space technology.

“The value of space technology extends beyond its traditional applications, but also holds significance in fields like banking, trade, maritime operations, and security,” he highlighted. Dr Adepoju also emphasised on the potential of space technology to enhance educational institutions, streamline property management, land enhancement, and contribute to the overall economic development of the country.

In response, Hajja Gana Wakil, Acting Executive Secretary/CEO of NIPC, conveyed the Commission’s readiness to collaborate with institutions engaged in space technology initiatives. She pledged NIPC’s commitment to partnering with the conference’s organizing bodies, particularly NASRDA and the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI). “NIPC is fully dedicated to partnering with you to promote the sector’s opportunities,” she affirmed.

The conference, scheduled for October, promises to be an inclusive event, featuring enlightening panel discussions, interactive exhibitions, productive B2B meetings, and networking opportunities spanning various sectors such as Communication, Security, Health, Agriculture, and Space Law.
