Zamfara to Engage 70,000 Youths in Mining

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State said on Monday his government would engage about 70,000 youths in proper mining activities in collaboration with the Federal Government.

Matawalle made the promise when he received 17 emirs in the state who paid him Sallah homage in his hometown, Maradun.

He said 5,000 youths from each of the 14 local government areas of the state would be engaged in the mining sector.

He asked royal fathers in the state to stop all forms of illegal mining within two weeks.

Matawalle informed the traditional rulers that the state government had resolved to stop all forms of illegal mining in all parts of the state.
