Spar Nigeria has said it recently opened its 14th outlet in Lagos.
It said the store situated at Opebi, was a response to the yearnings of the residents of the area for quality products and services from Spar.
The store was declared opened by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu and other dignitaries.
Akiolu said, “SPAR is promoting made-in Nigeria products which is strategic to the economic development of our country. They are helping to promote our local content, thereby helping the government in her economic development policy aimed at solving the problem of unemployment.”
Also speaking, the Chairman, Artee Industries Limited, Solomon Onafowokan, confirmed that the firm made it a policy to source most of its products locally.
According to him, the store is the largest of all Spar outlets in the state with a wide free car parking space.
He said, “We have also ensured that all our food and grocery products are approved by the regulatory authorities in Nigeria and our prices are affordable.”
The Managing Director, SPAR Nigeria, Mr Haresh Keswani, disclosed that the Opebi store was the 14th outlet in Nigeria.
“We have eight stores in Lagos, two each in Abuja and Port Harcourt and one each in Enugu and Calabar,” he said.
Personalities who witnessed the store opening include the owner of Adebola House, Chief Adebola Adegunwa ; Lagos State Chief Vehicle Inspection Officer, Mr Gbolahan Toriola; former Head of Corporate Services, SPAR Nigeria, Mr ‘Kunle Hamzat and others.
